Change Or Delete User Account In Windows XP

1. Click on start menu and go to control panel.



2. In control panel select User Accounts


3. Here there is already another user name exist that i created –> User2
Click on that user i.e. User2


4. Now type a new name you like, here I have entered XPUser2 and click on change name button.

 5. Here you can see that name of User2 has been changed to XPUser2. Now to make changes in password, click on create a password.

6. Here you can change the password or leave it as it is. Also you can change the password hint word or phrase. Click on change password button if you have entered new password or hint word, else you can hit the cancel button as well.

7. Now click on change picture to change the picture associate with you account.

 8. Here there are already some pictures to select from, if you want you can browse your own favorite picture from your computer. To do so just click on browse for more pictures.

9. Here you can browse through folders and find the located picture of your choice.
See the next picture in step 10, I have selected a pic from sample pictures folder.

10. The last option here is delete the account, just click on it.


11. Here you will be asked whether you want to keep that user’s files or you want to delete it. I don’t need that user’s any file so I selected delete files button.

12. You can see Windows XP is confirming by asking are you sure to delete the users’ account i.e. here XPUser2. You can click on Delete account button to delete.


















Be careful with this steps as once deleted you can’t get back the user or files.
